Outdoor Activities at the Old School B&B Drymen

Due to our central location, a stay at the Old School Bed & Breakfast will guarantee there will always be something to keep you entertained if you enjoy gettting out and about in the 'Great Outdoors'. Here's just a small selection of what you'll have to choose from.

As Drymen is located in the heart of Scotland's first national park you will be spoilt for choice. There are numerous trails right from the B&B doorstep, including the famous West Highland Way which passes the bottom of our drive.

There area also plenty of short walks right from the Old School Bed & Breakfast (which usually finish at the local pub - reputedly the oldest in Scotland) or if you are feeling more energetic a choice of more challenging fells including Ben Lomond the southern most Munro. As enthusiastic walkers themselves, your hosts will be happy to share their experience and provide information about walking and cycling locally.

Whilst out and about be sure to take your camera and binoculars as there is an abundance of wildlife. Keep an eye out for our visiting herons and ducks on the Old school B&B garden pond and if you're really lucky you might even spot one of the rarer visitors.

With a number of Golf courses right on the doorstep of our B&B (including two within walking distance) you'll never be short of choice for a round of Golf.

Buchannan Castle Golf course, which is just 5 minutes away, and sits in the shadows of the spectacular Buchannan Castle, is considered one of the finest in the area.

There is plenty of choice for those who enjoy fishing. With an abundance of rivers, lochs and local fishing clubs you'll never be short of somewhere to test your skills. Many of the locals love fishing and you'll not be far from someone who will be happy to chat away about the best pitches, best time of year for which spots and of course the “one that got away”.

With Loch Lomond, Scotland's largest fresh water loch, right on the doorstep there is plenty of choice for watersports of every nature. Windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing are just a few of the watersports available.
